There were times when we pray and ask God for something, we paused because we feel it's a selfish prayer. We think there is someone out there who is more deserving to be answered than us. "It's just me," we think. And because of our way of thinking like that, we never realized that we are rejecting the blessings of God that were supposed to be- not only for us- but to be used as blessings for others.
When I pray, I just tell God that may His plans for me be done because I know his plans are better than mine. I know that even though I may not say anything, He knows how I feel and what I want. But after reading Bo Sanchez' book entitled, "How to Live a Life of Miracles", I suddenly realize that it's not bad to ask. Instead, I should not be afraid to ask. As Patty Hansen quoted, "You create your opportunities by asking for them." How will I know that my prayers are answered if I did not pray for something specific. A blessing may already be given to me by God without me knowing. As adult, we usually don't ask for expectancy. So, we go and pray to God, "Lord, please give me..." And when we don't get it, we say, "It's okay. Maybe it's not meant for me." We quit. Easily. Here's the problem: The universe adjusts to our expectations. If we expect nothing, we get nothing. God is telling us, "My Child, the blessings are here. Stand up! Ask. Not for a bit. Not for a little. But ask for a double portion!"
God wants us to ask. And when we do, we should expect to get it! As Jesus Himself said, "Therefore, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you will receive and it will be yours."
Here's a key principle we need to understand form the book "How to live a Life of Miracles": God wants to bless others through us, but He has to bless us first.
"Your name is already written on every blessing designated for your life"
