World's Greatest Mom!

All of us would say that our mothers are the best! Yeah Right! No one could ever replace the love that our mothers showed us. From the time they conceived us until now they never stop caring for us. The hardest job in the world is definitely to become a mother. And I saw that to my Mom. She's the BESTEST MOM anyone could ever have. Some people tell her that she's so lucky that she got a daughter like me and sons like my siblings. But I just want to let them know that we are the ones who are very blessed to have her cos we would never be who we were now if not because of her.

She's the wind beneath my wings. She's my mother. She's my best friend. She's my everything! Everyday I pray and thank God for giving me a mother whose patience is very unbeatable, whose love is very unconditional, whose kindness is overflowing, whose understanding is very broad! I know I'm not perfect nor my mom also. But we've got the coolest relationship any daughter and mother would wish to have. We never hesitate to share our feelings. We also have some petty quarrels from time to time but that's part of life. God did not only gave me a mother but she also sent a best friend through my Mom. I'm so proud of her. I always ask her how she manages to be that strong against all the odds. I salute her for being tough and for being so God fearing. I will surely cherish all the values she have instilled in us. Mommy, just want to let you know that me and your two boys are so proud that we were born by you and I'm sure Daddy is so grateful that she got you as his wife cos despite of everything you've been through, your love for him never stops! In you I've learned that no matter how much pain a person have caused you but if you really love him, you will still accept him for whatever flaws he may have.

We love you!

Cheers to all the Moms! :) Advance Happy Mother's Day!

My Kuya!

You know what's great about having a brother? You also have a friend. :)

The God that I know...

I came across Direk Joey Reyes’ blogspot today. He’s one of those great directors that our country have and now, I’ve found out his amazing writing skills! He wrote a wonderful article there entitled ‘The God that I know’ (http://chokingonmyadobo.blogspot.com/2011/03/god-that-i-know.html).

Inspired by what he wrote, I’ve decided to also write my own perspectives about the God that I know.

I was born and raised a Catholic. I studied elementary and highschool in a Catholic School and even college. Every Sunday, we attend Mass. In our school, there is always a First Friday Masses that we should attend to and there is a 3 o’clock habit every afternoon. Every month of October, we religiously pray the rosary because it’s Holy Rosary Month. And in our subdivision, I am part of the choir (though I’m not good in singing) and sometimes I used to be a reader during Mass. So practically, I was raised in a conservative and spiritual way and I’m happy about that. I behave as best as I can and do what I see as good not because of my ‘fear of the lord’. I do so because I am in awe of God and His unconditional love.

For me, regardless of religions we have and rituals that we do, what matters most is we believe that we have God. The God who is the reason of everything. The God who made us. The God who blessed us. The God who give us trials. The God who answers our prayers. The God who sent His only begotten Son to save us from our sin. The God who keeps us alive. The God who unconditionally loves us.

The God that I know is the God who is always there with me. The God that I run to when I need someone to talk to. The God who never fails me to forgive despite of the wrong things I’ve done. The God who always guide me. The God who continually gives me struggles to make me a better person. The God who always listens. The God whom I may never see but His presence is always felt. The God that I know loves me so much. :)

As Jim Paredes said in one of his artcle, “Often, what religion does is to franchise what is already self-evident and accessible to anyone, everyone. Just like franchises, some people like McDonalds. Some like Jollibee. And there are some who like their own hamburger with ingredients they discover by themselves and that’s healthy for them.”

God speaks through many books, not just the Bible, and not just through certain people. God also speaks through me and you. And God has not stopped talking. God will always be engaging us.
